It’s Official!

I am an official graduate of LSE with an MSc in Social Policy and Development!

No word yet on the actual classification of my degree (our department has to wait until November 30th!) but I just got word that I did graduate. I’m more concerned with finding out the classification of my degree. I had been aiming for a High Merit or better but it looks like I’ll have to wait for four more weeks to find out how I did.

Much to my dismay, LSE’s webpage on degree classification doesn’t seem to differentiate between Merit and High Merit. While the page is specific to certain MSc degrees, I assume that this is a university-wide standard.

Mark Grade
0 – x% Bad Fail
(x+1) – 49% Fail
50-59%

Pass

60-69% Merit
70% and over

Distinction

Traditionally, if a school were to differentiate between Merit and High Merit, the High Merit would fall in the 65% – 69% range. I can only hope that we actually find out how we did (percentage-wise) on exams and the dissertation. I’m still aiming for 65%! Cross your fingers — I should find out in the next few weeks! Provided I graduated with at least a Merit, I’ll be sure to share. :)

Best to everyone that has officially finished their time at the LSE! We’re graduates!!

I may (hopefully) see everyone at graduation on the 15th of December!

xoxo from CA,
