Bay to Breakers 2012

Mario Kart!

As I mentioned yesterday, Sunday marked two special occasions: Boat Shoe Boy’s birthday and Bay to Breakers [click here to read about B2B 2011]! We had grandiose plans about a B2B Disney theme, but instead opted for a more feasible Mario Kart cast. I have to say, despite having a hellish time trying to find overalls (I swear, no one sells them), our crew looked pretty solid! As per noted in the unwritten Bay to Breakers rule guide, we started our day before 7A. By 6A, our entire party was at Boat Shoe Boy’s house to mingle before heading out to the course.

The course.

I could write about the general craziness of the day, but pictures capture the day much more effectively. Here, some shots of our day and the progression:

True love.

6:30A prep.

BFFs! Yoshi & Luigi. :)

Toad, Wario & Peach

The 1%.

Love.

The non-Mario Karters.

Ladies :)Dodging the masses.

Shhh.

Meeting some other Mario Karters.

Birthday Luigi!

That shirt was unnecessary anyway…

In hindsight, we weren’t on the B2B course for all that long. We ended up at a friend’s house for a bit before making our way back to our home base to soak up some sun outside and slowly revive our souls. Another fantastic day and a great end to an incredible weekend. I love birthdays!

Anyone else at B2B this year?
