I’ve been really slacking on updates here, but in my defense, it’s been a crazy few weeks. Lots of celebrations — anniversaries, engagements and lots of birthdays to mark up our calendar.
Another year has passed with another year full of memories on The Traveling Scholar. If I’m being honest, I don’t generally look forward to my birthday all that much. There’s so much to accomplish in life, I can’t help but think about how much there’s still left to check off of my life goals/bucket list. That being said, a talk with a friend this year made me reconsider my typical reaction. I can’t help but look back on this year and think about how much has changed, how much I’ve grown, and what I have been able to check off of my lifelong list.
Truthfully, I half forgot I was going to be celebrating my 26th. With so many celebratory dinners and get-togethers to honor our recent engagement, how could I expect anything greater? I spent the night in the most perfect way, though — dinner with Boat Shoe Boy and our a couple of our best friends, celebrating the onset of my 26th year of life and all the fun that this next year is bound to have in store. While 25 was amazing (lots of new adventures and travel, a move to a new city, and an engagement), it’s possible that 26 will bring even more excitement. More travel, more holidays to celebrate, more engagements to toast to, our own wedding to plan, and parties galore!
So, cheers to 26. It’s going to be a good year.
xoxo,
