4th of July Weekend

We made a long weekend out of our celebration in Tahoe and spent a lot of time poolside and boating. Thursday was a day dedicated to relaxation: sunning, ladder golf, and dinner.

Ladder Golf!

We decided to take the opportunity to head to the Hyatt for drinks outside before heading to nearby Austin’s for dinner. The Hyatt provided an amazing backdrop for a pre-dinner margarita; perfect weather, gorgeous views (as usual) and an awesome outdoor bar to draw the masses.

Austin’s was actually the perfect place for a group dinner – big enough to accommodate all of us on short notice and a menu that accommodated everyone’s needs. The service wasn’t awesome (friendly but ungodly slow — maybe that’s their way of getting you to order extra drinks?) but the food was solid enough to keep people on a budget coming back.

Friday brought another day of  boating, but this time we opted out of packing our lunches and instead headed out to grab a bite at Sunnyside (which also has a lodge attached — could be a great spot to stay!). As per usual, the food and drinks were great and the atmosphere was on point. For the record, their SS Refresh could be my new favorite drink. In fact, it may have just inspired my signature cocktail for our wedding next year (think mojito but less sugary).

Sunnyside – pretty as a picture.

Friday night provided for another night in, albeit a bit more rambunctious than the previous incarnations (think King’s Cup). The night became a little bit more entertaining with this gem:

People began to trickle out on Saturday so our day proved to be much more mellow. A little tubing + another night in to end the week. I have since discovered that my shoulders don’t love tubing, though I thought it was a blast at the time (it was my first time). While the boys spent the last night at the Crystal Bay Club, the girls stayed in with sangria. Very calm and very welcomed.

Tubing!

All in all, an amazing way to spend the 4th! Did everyone else have a fun weekend? What did you guys do?

xoxo,
