Giants win the World Series!

Warning: you are about to see the worst quality pictures of life.

After having dinner with my cousin & her boyfriend in the Inner Richmond, Boat Shoes and I headed back to Nob Hill. We had just watched the Giants win the World Series, and found it a little anti-climactic to just go home and go to bed. With so many people running around the streets of San Francisco, we headed out to see what was going on.

The entire block around Polk and Vallejo was blocked off for a massive street party. It was a sea of orange and black; people sitting on each other’s shoulders, champagne showers, people passing out beer, and fireworks being set off in the distance (by a man in a speedo and a full-length fur coat). I was ill-prepared, only heading out with my keys and phone, so here are the only pictures I managed to snap:

I’m not much of a baseball fan (actually, I kind of hate it), but it was awesome seeing the city in full party mode. There wasn’t a police officer in sight, and you know what? There didn’t need to be. It was just a bunch of super excited people, drunk on life and cheap beer.

Congrats, Giants! Way to make SF proud!

Does anyone have pictures from their neighborhoods that they want to share? I know most areas had their own little street parties going on (some more peaceful than others).
