This blog was started primarily to keep in touch with friends & family from abroad, detailing sights, trips & daily tidbits that may be of interest (with pictures, of course!) Since I’m semi-addicted to blogging, however, I’m also including travel deals that I come across, places that I’ve stayed that I absolutely love (or don’t love!), sights that are totally worth seeing & eateries that are worth popping into! Enjoy my daily posts that may or may not be entirely scholarly or travel-related {I suppose some would refer to this as a “lifestyle” blog/journal — you can call it whatever works for you}.

A little bit about the traveler in me:
I’m a California native living in London. I’m at a fantastic point in my life where I have no ties to any particular part of the world and a plethora of adventures awaiting my arrival. I’m typically a quintessential planner but have decided to put planning to the side for the time being. Instead, I’m going to take it each day at a time and let the world open up its doors and pull me in the right direction.

A little bit about the scholar in me:
My undergraduate work is in Business Administration with double concentrations in marketing and in international business. I am currently studying at the London School of Economics, working on my Masters in Social Policy and Development. My ultimate goal, once this year is over, is to (hopefully) pursue a doctorate and work in academia. My primary research interests are HIV/AIDS, infectious diseases, health education, prevention, ARVs, sub-Saharan Africa, children and child rights with specific focus on social policy. As of now, I’m not 100% sure as to which institutions I will be applying to for further education, but I have money on the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UCSD, Columbia and UCSF. I’ll have to wait and see where the world takes me.
